Play OneDrive videos on iPhone and iPad
Screening Room connects to your own OneDrive account so you can browse cloud folders, play supported videos, and keep selected files available offline. It also plays protected .efl files after you unlock the app.

How to start watching
- Download Screening Room from the App Store and open its cloud-account settings.
- Choose OneDrive and sign in to the Microsoft account that owns or can access your media.
- Add a cloud folder to your library and choose a supported video.
- For a protected .efl video, unlock private access with your app password or supported biometrics.
Playback requests the data it needs instead of requiring a full-file download first. Startup and seeking still depend on your connection, OneDrive availability, and the media format. This is a player for files you supply; it does not include a movie catalog.
Can I watch OneDrive videos offline?
Yes. Use the app’s offline-copy option for the files or folders you want to keep. Wait for the transfer to finish and test playback without a connection before traveling. Streaming a video once does not guarantee a complete offline copy. Offline files and playback caches use device storage; review their size in the app.
Can it play encrypted OneDrive files?
Screening Room can read its protected .efl files from OneDrive on demand and decrypt media during playback. It is not a universal player for every encrypted archive or another vault app’s proprietary format. Encryption and decryption take place on your device, and your media is not stored on developer-operated servers.
When you choose to protect a cloud file, encryption happens on your device before the protected output is written to your chosen cloud location. Verify that the protected file opens successfully before deciding what to do with the original and any backups. Protecting one copy does not erase other unencrypted copies.
OneDrive connection or the Files app?
The built-in OneDrive connection provides cloud-folder browsing, on-demand playback, and offline-copy controls. Access through Apple’s Files app instead depends on the selected file provider and its download behavior. Files providers may need to make a full file available locally. These routes should not be assumed to have identical streaming behavior.
What does the free version include?
You can try core protection and playback with a limited number of entries and one cloud account. Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that removes quantity limits, with no subscription. The app explains how entries are counted; the App Store shows the current price for your region. Viewing, decryption and export remain available without buying Pro.
Does this hide files from OneDrive?
No. An encrypted file can still expose its filename, folder, size and other storage metadata. OneDrive account access and sharing settings remain separate from Screening Room’s app lock and file encryption. Read the privacy policy for the security model, including recovery mechanisms.
What if a video will not play?
Confirm your account can access it, check the network, and try a completed offline copy. File extensions alone do not establish codec compatibility. If a problem persists, contact support with the device model, app version, format, and reproduction steps. Do not send private media or passwords.
